Abstract
Applicability of fuzzy set theory to the analysis of capacity and level of service of highway facilities is discussed. Many rigid assumptions used in the existing methods suggested by the Highway Capacity Manual, can be relaxed and a subjective case by case judgement of the engineer can be incorporated if fuzzy set theory is used. This paper presents how fuzzy set theory can be incorporated in the present analysis procedure
