Abstract :
Calibration and application of polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) onboard the Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) is discussed using airborne L-band SAR data. We find that even a simple calibration is useful for polarimetric classification, if the system has a small cross-talk and good channel valance.
