Abstract :
Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) is an optical fiber nonlinear effect which manifests itself in multiwavelength transmission as power transfer from higher frequency to lower frequency channels. SRS in WDM systems is typically analysed for average power transmitted by channel but, to our knowledge, has not been treated in the frequency domain. In this paper, a spectral analysis of SRS is performed. This analysis permits to consider the SRS effects on optical signals taking into account their modulation and transmission bit rate, together with average power and number of channels.
