Abstract :
A new regenerative divider configuration, providing broad frequency band in the millimetric range, is proposed. This configuration is based on the chain connection of two transistor stages, the first one performing the amplification of the input signal and the second one, the frequency regeneration. The divider circuits are analyzed using an improved harmonic balance formulation, which allows an easy convergence, both in the autonomous and synchronized modes. The design and simulation techniques have been applied to several frequency dividers, obtaining synchronization bandwidths of about 20% range.
