Study on optimum scale of China´s Outward Direct Investment

The paper studies the optimum scale of China´s Outward Direct Investment (ODI) from two aspects: economic growth and economic security. On the basis of theoretic model, some calculation on statistics would show us the essential scale from the perspective of economic growth and the safety scale from economic security which go with our economic development. Then we will compare and analyze theoretic scales with realistic scale so as to propose a method for building an optimum scale of China´s ODI. Generally speaking, China´s ODI scale has been in safety condition in recent years. However, it is still far behind essential scale. Much more efforts should be made to promote ODI in order to give it full play in economic growth within safety scale.
