Abstract :
During an endoscopic examination, physicians find lesions, diagnose malignancy and perform biopsy as well as therapy. Our recently developed multifunctional imaging system provides an enhanced image for each step of the examination. Four observational modes work on the same platform. They are conventional white light mode (WLI), auto-fluorescence imaging (AFI), narrow band imaging (NBI) and infrared imaging (IRI). We are describing the system configuration and clinical performances. We are also presenting in-vivo cellular imaging technique; endo-cyto system (ECS). ECS enables physicians to observe cell nuclei during endoscopy.
