Abstract
When the blade of the windmill crosses with the tower in wind power generation system, the wind pressure that blows against the blade becomes weak and the rotor speed decreases. This is called tower shadow effect. This paper proposes the method used stator-flux-oriented vector control to prevent the effect of the tower shadow for the wind generator system with a wound rotor induction generator. This paper shows that the proposed control method is effective because the power variation is a little even if the rotor speed changes by the effect of the tower shadow. Furthermore by comparison between vector control and slip frequency control, it is confirmed that the performance of the vector control has been excellent.
