Abstract
This paper deals with the design and implementation of a real-time fuzzy logic controller for a DC drive system. A proportional plus integral fuzzy logic controller (PI-FLC) is implemented using a personal computer (PC) with a data acquisition card. The interface circuits between the PC and the drive system are also implemented. Experimental results of the proposed controller for the drive system are presented. The controller is firstly compared with a conventional PI controller and tested with different operating conditions and disturbances. The experimental results show that the proposed controller is fast with a high degree of accuracy for control of the drive system even in the case of sudden disturbances
