Abstract
With the emergences of distributed generators (DGs) into the electricity distribution systems, there is an increasing need to understand and quantify their impacts on distribution systems such as voltage, reliability, power quality, etc. This paper presents a novel power flow algorithm based on the equivalent current injection technique. Instead of using the impedance or Jacobian matrices, the proposed method employed the load-injection to branch-current (LIBC) matrices. It fully exploited the special topological structure of the distribution systems to make direct solution possible. In order to make different DGs adapt to the proposed algorithm, the paper analyzed the power flow model and solution method corresponding to various DGs, presenting the reactance matrices about bus with PV DGs. The proposed algorithm have been tested on the IEEE 90-bus by adding different DGs. The test results demonstrate the validity, robustness, and excellent computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm in getting a good enough feasible solution to radial distribution system with multi-sources and multi-type DGs.
