Abstract :
An efficient technique is introduced based on the Mixed Potential Integral Equation formulation and the Method of Moments (MoM) for the Computer Aided Design of shielded MMIC´s. The technique first splits the pertinent dyadic Green´s function into frequency-dependent and frequency-independent two dimensional modal summations. Subsequently, the two-dimensional frequency-independent summations are effectively transformed into one-dimensional ones using Poisson´s summation formula together with Sommerfeld´s identity. This considerably speeds up the entire MoM procedure. The presented method remains valid for non-uniform discretization schemes with arbitrary kinds of basis functions and can be extended to multilayer substrates.
