Abstract :
In manufacturing, electrical machines, devices or tools are utilized in the process of transforming the base (raw) materials to the finished product. To the operator of these electrical equipments, the visible responses of the equipments when turned on is usually rotation, pull, push, illumination, heat, etc according to the equipment type or application. How these visible responses are produced are often times a subject of curiosity to the equipment operators. This paper uses physical analogies to present the energy conversion process in electrical manufacturing from the invisible electricity building block (electron) to the visible reactions of rotation, actuation, light or heat. The paper also presents some tools for problem solving, process characterization and product characterization to aid individuals engaged in motor or coil manufacturing in the coil or motor manufacturing industry.
