Abstract :
Many unique challenges need to be managed when using COTS transceivers for military/aerospace applications. In this paper we summarize results of our survey of COTS suppliers transceivers for military/aerospace fiber optic networks using 100 μm core optical fiber. The factors of performance, price, compatibility, reliability and vendor responsiveness are evaluated and summarized.
