Abstract :
Functional descriptions of neurons for neural networks constructed from single electron quantum dot transistors are presented. Single electron transistors with quantum dots should make it possible to practically construct artificial neural networks with millions of cells on a chip. Here, we discuss how quantum dots can serve as weights for neurons made from the transistors. The transistor characteristics are modeled by weight parameterized monotonic functions which can be obtained from practically realized transistors.
