Abstract :
Results of studies of the BNL RF gun, laser-induced photoelectrons are presented, and interactions between the self field and the wake induced in the cavity are discussed. Also presented are the beam parameters obtained at the gun exit (z approximately 98 mm), and an overview of the formalism used. With this method the preliminary analysis indicates, that at 100 MV/m field on the cathode and 1 nC charge the initial phase of 55 degrees will provide the smallest emittance and largest kinetic energy at the gun exit.<>
