Abstract
Deals with the design of an observer for the estimation of rotor position and velocity for switched reluctance motors. In this way, the use of costly sensors can be avoided. Measurements of stator currents and voltages are needed in order to drive the observer. However, these measurements are, generally, easier and cheaper than position and velocity measurements. The introduced observer is a reduced order nonlinear observer. Simulation results are presented in order to illustrate observer performance
