Abstract
In this paper the problem of filter structures is analyzed. The starting point is the new concept of asymptotic filtering. The basic point of view is the signal energy transfer and filter structures that satisfy the general energy conservation law are investigated. So called lattice-ladder filter structure was derived and compared with typical digital filter structures such as direct and cascade form. The comparison is made with respect to the energy conservation law and rounding errors.
