Abstract :
With the wide spread use of the Internet and proliferation of devices, the energy consumed by the network increases significantly, thus necessitating the construction of green networks. In this paper, we design an energy-efficient routing scheme for multiple many-to-many multicast requests with known traffic demands in green multi-granularity transport networks. We present a probabilistic model which describes the probabilistic value of every edge comprising the solution of a many-to-many multicast request. We propose a heuristic algorithm based on the probabilistic model to construct multiple many-to-many multicast trees. Results from simulation experiments demonstrate that our proposed scheme consumes less energy as compared with other certain schemes.
