Abstract :
The behavioral approach to modelling dynamical system is characterized, among other things, by the fact that it does not require that the input/output structure of the system to be displayed, nor does if require that a system is in a state space form. In this paper, a formulation of the classical LQ-problem is given which completely fits into the behavioral setting. The solution of the LQ-problem then involves quadratic polynomial matrix equations
