Abstract
Transient stability analysis has been performed by several approaches such as time simulation approach, direct Lyapunov energy method, and hybrid method mixing both. The time simulation approach is the most fundamental tool for the online TSA (transient stability analysis), since it is also required for the direct Lyapunov energy method. A lot of efforts have been devoted to the speed up of the transient stability simulation. New noniterative algorithms have been developed with the full consideration of the generator saliency to reduce the computation time. The computation speed of the polarized partitioning algorithm shows the possibility of the on-line application of TSA
