Abstract :
Advanced broadcasting system-satellite (ABS-S) is a transmission standard for direct broadcasting satellite applications in China. Firstly, this paper makes a brief introduction to the characteristics and structure of ABS-S standard, and elucidates the performance of ABS-S which is more outstanding than that of the Europe satellite broadcasting standard DVB-S used worldwide nowadays and has almost the same performance with the second generation satellite broadcasting system DVB-S2. Secondly, this paper presents the implementation and test results of the ABS-S modulator based on the ABS-S standard, especially, emphasizes on the encoding method of LDPC code. At last, the presented modulator was verified by board-level experiment. The test results show that the implemented modulator operates successfully.
