Abstract :
A content aware retargeting (CAR) method is proposed for soccer video in small devices. According to domain-specific knowledge, the user interested objects (UIOs) in different type of shots are detected individually, and then a region of interest (ROI) of each shot is optimized with the scaling factor, which enlarges the cropped window to contain more semantic content while keeping the proper sizes and aspect ratio of UIOs. The simulation results prove that the proposed method wins better viewing experiences than the traditional methods such as resizing in a “letter box” mechanism or cropping directly.
