Abstract :
This paper presents a method that compares two pieces of music and shows them by the means of musical staff. It designs and implements a musical staff processing software system. The system analyzes the MIDI format music files and extracts MIDI format data which was transferred into the musical staff information to output, including clef, rest and measure. According to the correlation between the musical staff and the transferred output information, the two MIDI musical staff files was displayed in the user display equipment, to implement the contrast of two pieces of music. Other formats of audio files can be converted into MIDI format firstly, and then to show the corresponding musical staff using the method in this paper. This system achieves a visual comparison of two parts of music and lays the foundation for the research on automatic spectrum generation software.
