Abstract :
Wind power has been generally concerned as a clean, renewable energy. The mechanical properties of supporting columns, rotating blades and the corresponding pieces of wind turbines are important for the safety working during designed life. Finite element method has been used in this paper to research the mechanical properties of rotating blades with the corresponding connecting pieces with the procedure of load analysis, modeling, meshing, restraint conditions setting, simulating and results analysis for a vertical axis wind turbines with the designed wind of the Beauport force 10. The conclusions have been obtained as follows: (1) the weakest position locates at the edge between the square tube II and tray salver; the blade unit is safe for the wind of Beauport force 10; (2) the stress increases with the wind power rising with the trend of conic.
