Abstract :
Waterside line information extraction is a foundation work in studying mudflat sedimentation/erosion change. The paper proposed a new identification method which, compared with the traditional Hough-like method, is suitable for the ring waterside line detection. Firstly, the image segmentation was performed to realize the edge detection based on the waterside line gray gradient information. And then, the mathematical morphology method was run to dilate and fill the interior edges. Furthermore, a continuous and smooth waterside line could be obtained by constructing segment-shaped structural elements. At last, an experiment was carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness and simplicity of the method.
