Abstract :
There have been obvious differences among provinces in their urbanization level ever since China implemented reformation and opening policy. By establishing a panel data model, this paper probes into the correlation between provincial urbanization level and economic growth. It is concluded that industrialization in China goes hand in hand with its urbanization. Problems arising in the course of urbanization can not be solved solely by the reformation of the household registration system, but by the implementation of the strategies of developing small and middle-sized cities and towns and constructing new countryside.
