Abstract :
This work describes a phase locking system using a digital phase-frequency comparator combined with an harmonic mixer to achieve broad band operation and low phase noise. The system is low cost, easy to adjust and has been specially designed for YIG oscillators, but it´s also aplicable to DRO´s and others microwaves sources. We have applied this system to a 2 to 8 Ghz oscillator getting a very good phase-noise of ¿105 dBc @ 10Khz and frecuency steps of 100Hz in multiloop configuration.
