  • Abstract
    The most effective and the most used method of image compression among other methods is the JPEG algorithm. An algorithm is proposed which does not outperform JPEG, but is simpler. The image compression method presented is capable of a guaranteed reduction in memory of more than twice. The method uses interpolation of smooth image areas with subsequent optimization of the color palette
