Abstract :
An antenna system including antenna elements and a satellite tracking method is considered a key technology in implementing larid mobile satellite communications. This paper describes the development of two L-band satellite-tracking mobile-vehicular antenna systems for communications and navigation projects. The design and implementation of the different parts of both demonstrators, from stacked microstrip. patch array antenna to the signal processing circuits, including the microwave ICs and IF stages, will be addressed in this paper. Simulations and experimental data showing the performance of both demonstrators will be presented as well.
