A Study on the Development of Economy with Regional Characteristics in Less-Developed Area A Case of Enshi Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province

This paper takes Enshi Autonomous Prefecture of Hubei Province as the example to explore the way to develop the economy with regional characteristics in less-developed areas. Based on the natural environment structure and resources characteristics of Enshi, we analyzed the asymmetry between the environment structure and resources characteristics and the industry structure. A special way based on "green agriculture" and light industry in Enshi is provided. Adopting the economic location quotient technique, this paper made a superiority evaluation on all the resources in this area, and initially constructed its industry structure with regional characteristics.
