Abstract
Mixed-norm digital filter design methods provide the capability to design filters that have, for example, minimum deviation in the passbands (using the L∞ norm) and minimum broadband noise power in the stopbands (using the L2 norm). Filters that trade off between these two extremes (e.g., L4 norm) are also possible. The method presented here allows for the rapid design of mixed-norm FIR filters by using an unconstrained optimization method.
