Abstract :
The success of cellular communications has resulted in large commercial mobile communication systems with billions of user. Many new technologies have been proposed to improve the performance and capacity of these systems. Among these, space-time coding (STC) is a technology, which can provide good performance through spatial diversity. Space-time block codes (STBC) have been incorporated in third generation (3G) cellular protocols. In this paper, we consider the implementation of a new cellular systems with transmit diversity first introduced in [W. Li and T.A. Guilliver, 2002].
