Abstract
Single-mode distributed feedback (DFB) fiber lasers have been frequency locked to selected absorption lines in the 1.5 /spl mu/m region. Wavelength modulation and fast frequency corrections were achieved by strain tuning the fiber laser by piezoelectric transducers. A mechanical lead screw achieved coarse wavelength tuning of almost 3 nm.
