Abstract :
Nowadays, the state estimators constitute a fundamental element in the control of electrical networks. The current tendency towards a new generation of smart grids requires a higher functionality in this tool. The goal of this paper is the development of a methodology which implements a two-stage state estimation process for electrical networks including three-phase areas. The proposed methodology includes the possibilities currently offered by new communication, measurement and computation technologies, together with a structure adapted to the own characteristics of smart grids.
