Abstract :
The application of content-based image retrieval technologies in medicine thus far has not been successful. Existing techniques deal with two-dimensional images and are concerned with searching through generic image features such as color, shape, texture, or a combination of these. For multimedia medical data, application-specific algorithms for feature extraction and better data models must be developed
