Abstract :
The paper describes a novel method for high precision true RMS measurements of arbitrarily shaped signals. The method is based on a special statistical algorithm and allows extremely high sampling rates. According to a PTB calibration, the uncertainties of a laboratory model proved to be less than 0.01% of full scale at signal frequencies between 30 Hz and 70 kHz.
