Abstract :
This paper describes the development of the helicopter real-time model, outlines how the natural concurrency of a rotor helicopter is extracted through functional decomposition, and discusses mathematical approaches used in describing the dynamics of the most dominant element of the model: the main rotor. It also describes interaction of functional elements of the model and the partitioning for most effective concurrent implementation. Mapping of the coded model onto a transputer network: the York transputer network (YTN) is described. The YTN is our proposed solution to the large scale real-time modelling problem. The authors outline the way ahead for this modelling approach and provide salient conclusions.
