  • Abstract
A new measurement of G is presented having an uncertainty close to 1 part in 10/sup 4/. It results from work at the BIPM using a novel torsion balance and its aim is to help resolve the discrepancy produced by the 1995 result from the PTB that differed by 0.6% from the then Codata value.
