Abstract :
Traffic information coverage is an important indicator to probe vehicle system. In this paper, the variation of coverage to different probe vehicle number is analyzed firstly based on the data collected from Nanjing system, and sensitivity analysis is also executed. Then, a coverage model including probe vehicle number and road network characteristics is estimated through multiple regression analysis, and validated with high preciseness. This model is characterized with high transferability by involving urban road network characteristics, and possible be applied to other city to get the necessary probe vehicle number for a defined coverage.
