Abstract :
The authors describe the use of vector spaces to analyze fuzzy control systems. Using Zadeh´s fuzzy-set theory, the outputs of a fuzzy controller are expressed as parametric equations in terms of its inputs and plotted as a contour map in a modified state-space known as a vector space, thereby displaying visually its dynamic behavior and offering new insights in designing fuzzy control systems. A new design method for fuzzy control systems is outlined. Simulation results on the performance of two classes of fuzzy controllers are presented
