Abstract :
Management of abnormal situations is essential activity of any industrial production plant. Various low level abnormal situation detection functionalities exist -many of them created already during design process. Diagnosis systems etc extend this functionality, but need considerable amount of pre-conflguration. In contrast, utilization of accumulated knowledge about previous abnormal situations is still on manual basis. Informal content can not be effectively utilized by software applications. Simultaneously, efforts exist aiming to programmatic interpretation of information semantics. In service oriented environment of industrial operation and maintenance, technologies of these efforts are applied in abnormal situation management.
