  • Abstract
    With the development of hardware technology, the software communication protocol overhead has become the bottleneck of cluster communication. To overcome this bottleneck, we put forward a zero-copy receiving method based on communication-page pool. A page-table lock technology is presented to make the application buffer residing in memory. Experiment result shows that the overhead consumed in the zero-copy receiving method is less than that of the existing communication protocol for large message transmission such as MVICH, etc. Theoretical verification is also given. The zero-copy receiving method is used for cluster computing based on COTS product.
