Abstract :
A national coordinated program was evolved to utilise SRTM data for applications to Earth sciences, hydrology and technology development. The project was sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Fourteen test sites covering the above themes spread all over India were selected for conducting synchronous field experiments. About 52 corner reflectors (CR) were fabricated with two sizes (1.2 meters and 1.6 meters shortest length) and installed in the fields by the respective groups according to the installation parameters given by DLR, Germany. The CRs and GPS data will be useful for calibration of the SAR system and validation of DEM products. This paper gives the details of the field campaign
