Abstract
The paper presents a new interframe predictive coding approach to deal with the two special cases of zooming and rotation for transmission of image sequences. Tests show that in many aspects performance of this new approach is as good as or even better than that of motion compensation for such special occasions. The author also investigates how to reduce the computational burden and enhance the search accuracy.<>
