Abstract
The use of a smart antenna is a major step forward in a cellular system. In existing deployments, smart antennas must be integrated with conventional cell site equipment to function as an adaptive spatial filter that yields increased signal quality, capacity, and/or range over conventional antennas. This implementation will require a combination of active microwave and digital electronics as an integral part of its system. This paper therefore explores areas of strategic importance in integration of new antenna array topologies which are appropriated for use as a building block for the indoor wireless system
