Abstract :
The author describes the system of pickups and electronics, the excitation kicker system, and the control system, which have been built for betatron tune measurements in the HERA proton ring. The importance and monitoring of longitudinal impedances are discussed. The Schottky-type resonant pickups should provide high sensitivity over the full range of beam currents to be used in HERA. The operation and early test results are discussed.<>
