Abstract :
A wideband K through Ka-band, surface micromachined, monolithically integrated direction finding (DF) front-end is demonstrated and used to determine the angle of arrival of an incoming plane wave utilizing phase/amplitude comparison. The designed subsystem employs a two-element Vivaldi antenna array directly connected with a micro-coaxial 180° hybrid to produce the desired beams. Measurements confirm that the developed front-end operate from 18 to 40 GHz.
