Abstract :
At present there are many chat tools on the Internet, but their cross-platform character is poor. In order to make chat software cross platform a system of video image capture of camera based on JMF is researched and implemented. This system adopts Java as development tool. It adopts JMF technology and can long-distance transmit video images, voice and text. This system´s structure is simple and its function is compact and applied. It can bring great convenience to people. It is worthy of practical extension and application.
