Study on the evolution process of KM competency a the small and medium sized multinational company (SMNC) ventured by America in China. SMNC is localized in the model from the manufacture centers to the sales center and then to R & D center, it is shown that the KM core competence is the impelling force of localization/multinationalization, enterprise is developed from the physical to the intelligent, then to the cultural entity with higher KM competence, correspondingly the managers in the company also progress from physical to intelligent to cultural managers.this is co-evolution of KM, Manager(mainly general manager) and Enterprise.
