Abstract
Summary form only given. In this paper, we have demonstrated laser emission at 899 nm and below in Nd:YAG crystal. CW powers of 630 mW at 899 nm and 100 mW at 450 nm after SHG operation have been obtained. Numerical modelling have been carried out to better understand the behaviour of the quasi three level laser, allowing us to predict that with a shorter Nd:YAG crystal and a better spectral selectivity of the cavity, the zero line transition at 869 nm could be reached and will be part of forthcoming experiments to obtain deeper blue.
