Abstract :
This paper compares the polarization behavior of a transverse single-mode, top-emitting, 925 nm wavelength, 4 mum oxide aperture diameter grating relief vertical cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSEL) (grating with 0.8 mum period, 57 nm depth, and 3.6 mum outer diameter) with a nominally identical standard VCSEL for unpolarized optical feedback in the long external cavity regime, in which the feedback effects are qualitatively independent from optical phase variations.
